Devidhura, which is at a distance of 58 km from Lohaghat , is the point where the three districts of Almora, Pithoragarh and Nainital meet. In 1858 A.D, archaeologist Henwood had discovered the ruins of a megalithic culture near Devidhura.A very
unusal fair , which attracts people from Kumaon, Nepal and other places , is held in the temple of Barahi devi every year on the Raksha Bandhan day. During this fair , known as Bagwal, two groups of dancing and Singing people throw stones at each other , and they try to protect themselves with the help of large shields. The Bagwal, which was once very common in Kumaon is now held at Devedhura only.Jim
