Gangolihat is situated at the point where the old Pithoragarh-Almora footpath meets with the new Ghat-Bageshwar motor road . In ancient Hindu Literature Ganfolihat, which lies between the rivers Saryu and Ramganga, is referred to amidst deodar forests , the Janhavi Naula( a covered spring ) and temple complex.
