Munsiyari
Munsiyari is situated on the bank of the river Gori at a distance of about 62 km from Jauljibi via Madkot 120 km from Pithoragarh via Thal-Tej Kalamuni and 207 km from Almora via Taluka-Bageshwar and Thal along the same routes.On both the routes the traveller can see manywaterfalls coming down to Gori and Ramganga.Besides housing the Tehsil headquarters, Munsiyari is the centre as well as the gateway of the Johar region. At one time, the whole Johari population of Munsiyari would migrate to their suer settlements to engage in trae as spring arrived. The valley of the river Gori and Gunkha would come alive as far as Milan an Untahur. Although the Johars still deal in woollens an herbs, a number of them have turned to agriculture and horticulture. Monetheless, they are still confined to Munsiyari alone.
